Mine all started solids right around 6 months of age. But they still didn't have them on a daily basis for a couple of months after that. If we were home and it was convenient, they had solids. If not, we just nursed.

Yes. I didn't start solids until 7 months, and even then it was 2-3 times a week not every day.

I do baby-led introduction to solids, which means baby eats what I eat when I eat --only appropriate food of course, no honey, no dairy, etc. In the begining I was still eating a lot the baby couldn't have and eating when he was sleeping. Now I have gotten better at eating healthy and he can eat a lot more. However some days he still just smooshes it. He is 9.5 months.

Under 1 year of age, and possibly longer, breastfed babies do not require anything other than breastmilk from a nutritional standpoint. In fact many doctors are telling moms with a family history of allergy to withhold food until 12 months.

Your breastmilk has all the iron[1] (and anything else uninformed people will tell you it lacks) your baby needs. In fact not starting solids until 7 months or later reduces the rate of toddler anemia to almost 0. Just take care to keep your supply up by staying hydrated and nursing on demand.

My youngest was breast fed exclusively until she was 7 months old. We introduced solids slowly and by 10 months she was eating mostly what we ate, except we gave her infant cereal for the iron content. We skipped the bottle and most commercially prepared baby foods. I nursed her until she was 14 months old when she self-weaned. She is now 9 years old and is very healthy.

Need to get that babe started on solids. It has been shown that delaying the introduction of solid foods too long cause eating problems later.
