yes the discharge is normal and those clumps are just clots...that if you're using a pad may be sticking in your pubic hair until you urinate...yes it's normal and not a tampon cannot absorb them but the clumps will most of the time stick to the tampon and come out when you change your tampon

Hey sweets! I have three daughters, 19, 21, and 22 so i have some experience with this!
The big red clumps you see in the toilet are just clotted bits of your uterine lining. Your uterus makes a lining every month; if you get pregnant (please don't!) this lining is what the placenta attaches to. When you don't get pregnant, your body gets rid of this lining. This is your period! Then you make a fresh lining for the next month! As I said...the clumps are nothing to worry about! It's completely natural. As for tampons, they won't 'absorb' the clots, but the clots will stick to them. (pretty much) It's a good idea to wear a pad (no tampon) the last day of your period to allow for a good 'cleaning' .
BIG BIG NOTE:::::::::::
Please be careful with tampons.....there is a REAL health risk with them. MAKE SURE you change them every three hours, and DO NOT use the deoderant ones! These UP the risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome. better yet, use only pads! For comfort, good absorption, and no leaks, all four of us prefer ALWAYS brand. The fluid really absorbs quickly thru the liner of these, and on heavy days we never have any problem with 'run-over'.
AS FOR THE BROWN DISCHARGE......make sure you haven't accidently left a tampon in you. AND PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU TELL YOUR MOM OR SOMEBODY ELSE THAT CAN GET YOU TO THE DR.. this can't be good! you may have an infection! Take care of this ok sweets?
I hope this helps!

I think that it's your period (so is the dark brown discharge), but I'm 11 and I'm only on my discharge. However, In sex ed, I learned that periods aren't always red. They also said that the red clumps in the toilet are just blood clots from the tissue. An answer said that the blood clots can get stuck in your pubic hair, and I actually agree with them. So yes, you're a normal girl changing into a woman. Good luck!

It's all normal. Nothing to worry about. Blood clots.

You might get the brown discharge for a couple of days after your period too.

Yes, those are blood clots and they (and the brownish discharge) are normal. If I were you, I would switch from tampons to ultra thin pads because pads absorb the clots better than tampons. And don't worry, they are sooo thin, but they do just as good.

These clumps of red stuff are kind of like jelly. They are just blood molecules that are not liquid. Oh yeah and the discharge is normal, it is just a warning sign that you are going to get your period.

It is normal, don't worry, and yes tampons will work just as well as pads for the absorption of menstrual fluid
