How did the new-born Israel state survive the Arab invasion of '48?

Great question. If they were a 'newborn' state, where did they get all the military stuff to repel the attacks? How is it they already had soldiers, with weapons, plans of attack, etc.?
My understanding is that the various Arab countries in the attack were not properly coordinated, poorly trained, some were armed with only small or dated weapons, and even others had problems with the intent and purpose of the attack. Now that you have posted this question, I am again curious and will need to research this - Happy New Year.

because the Israeli people had the backing of good rifles and people who knew how to use them. almost the way that the Patriots whipped the British in America. of course People don't need guns to defend themselves against foreign enemies or domestic ones.Just ask the liberals...and consider this if you vote do you think that the government which failed to prevent 9/11/2001 will or can protect you if terroists try to repeat it...or stop the illegals flooding over the border...or prevent the chinese from sending nuclear bombs into the country in cargo containers do you think billiary or up chuck a boom boom schumer or barbara boxer care... they all carry guns...

well its formation was not something which just happened from the sky...obviously it had all the most advanced military and economical back from western nations at that time,so obviously it had no problem facing these arab nations...and u called ARAB INVASION as if they are the ones who invaded...its funny becuase history shows something else...history reveals that the palestinian land was invaded rather than vice versa...
anywayz till this date the israel state is being given all the most advanced military technology of the world...and even in the lebanon war they were given all the military power they required...hec most of the changes taking place in middleeast strategically are for its benefit...

No matter what lies muslims tell about Israel, God chose the Jews to carry His message to the world, and God has been with Israel throughout history as long as the Jewish people lived according to God's word.
The people who founded Israel knew God was with them, and the survival of Israel in the face of enemies that out number them over 100 to 1 is proof.
