I have always had very sensitive skin. When I shave I get tiny little bumps on my legs - mainly my thighs. It's really embarrassing! Are there any alternatives besides waxing? I use shaving gel, even the kind for sensitive legs, but it doesn't seem to help.

Shaving gel is a gimmic. I don't have sensitive skin, but it's very dry and I've found even the best shaving cream for dry, sensitive skin does nothing but dry my skin out even more.

Exfoliate your skin first to get rid of any bumps from dry, dead skin building up. This also helps with ingrown hairs...My husband doesn't shave his legs, never has, but I notice his thighs have a lot of ingrown hairs and exfoliating helps get rid of them.

Use a thick, moisturizing conditioner instead of shaving cream. It's thick enough to protect your legs plus it moisturizes as well. And make sure you have a new razor too...the newer the razor, the fewer the knicks and cuts.

You don't want the water to be too hot. This can dry your skin out, and even if it's sensitive...this can make it more sensitive. It's also better to shave after the skin has been soaking for a while. So if you have a bathtub...just lay in there and relax in the warm-mildly hot water for 10 or 15 minutes, then shave.

Hi! I've had the same problem in the past. Please, go to Walmart and get a can of Aveeno (or similar) Sensitive Shave Cream in the men's shaving section. It works on female skin, too. Aveeno costs a little more; however, it's worth it. Best of Luck and Happy New Year!

do you make sure to shave only after being inside hot shower for awhile? also, use a brand new 3 or 4 blade razor...that should help

I have sensitive skin too and I use schick intuition senstive skin, and LOTS of lotion.
