This article is worrying. We have so many people already there, who wish to come home to their families. We have spent to long there, and it is time to think about phasing our way out, rather than placing ourselves further in this quagmire of lies and deceit.

According to the article, "Some 'surges' would last a few months, others a few years." This is not the way to think. We must think more along the lines of, "Some 'withdraws' will last for years, if not forever." We cannot afford the constant drain of resources that Iraq presents.

If one retired general and one think tank theorist are all that planned this.... they must really be stupid, near0sighted, and unconcerned with America's future generations. Thank you for pointing this out to me.

If there is a surge it will just mean more American soldiers deaths and nothing will be accomplished. Bush has no problem gambling with Americas youth, money, or standing in the world. Something needs to be done about this idiot before it is too late.

Makes more sense to Finally give the military the opportunities to run this campaign than it does to take the advise of a study group with two yrs military experience thirty yrs. ago.... and only a lieutenant...... Good for Bush.. Let the military leaders do their job and keep politics out of this..

absolutely...why would anyone think emperor bush would do anything except exactly what he wants...he told us he's the decider! He would not listen to some of the best minds in the USA when they didn't agree with him...why are we not surprised? He needs to be impeached then tried for treason for the things he has done against our country!

Given the unbridled desire to turn it's attention away from domestic problems of it's own making the United States has sought to foment a sideshow war preferably with a country that is small, will fight back, but not decisively. Now that a war is in fact in place it wants to pull out. U.S. presence anywhere, in fact, outside it's own soil is illegitimate.
