Me and my husband recently tried getting into some apartments and the application was denied b-cause the manager got his identity mixed up with someonelse and it came back that their was a felony and my husband dont have any felony's we've showed his social security cards and ID and whole name and their saying he has a felony in Tarrant County and we never stayed in Tarrant County before and their saying he needs a criminal background check from Tarrant County? Can someone tell me what i need to do?

It would be a good idea to get the background check done as it seems that there is someone else out there with the same name who has a criminal record. To prevent this from happening over and over just get the criminal background check from Tarrant county and your problem with this issue should end.

The first step is to tell your prospective housing manager that you are going to pay for the background check yourself, privately, and that you will provide him that information post haste. This will show you have nothing to hide. Second, I would contact the Tarrant County Police at : (214) 671 3001. Give them your husbands name and ask them if he has a felony charge or not. If he doesnt ask them to fax a copy to your rental office managers. If he does he may be a victim of identity fraud and ask them for your husbands next course of action. If this doesn't work contact a company that does background checks, or you could pay by credit card on an internet site that perfoms these checks as well. It shouldn't cost you more than $50.00.

sounds like you could possibly be the victims of identity theft. check into that and have the manager do another check, if he still says no then maybe it would be best to look elsewhere, sorry I know it sucks all the way around, good luck and happy new year

Have them run a back ground check and prove that this felony is not him.
