u dont need an account to use itunes to send songs to ur ipod

but if u get an account (free of charge) u can get album artwork for your songs free

use limewire but if you want to but the songs from itunes you have to have an account so like they can mail you the bill and stuff but i just use limewire it works great

you should be able to rip music from a cd as i can do that and then i download it to my mp3 player and that is basically what an ipod is
