Chris LeDoux (October 2, 1948 – March 9, 2005) was an American country music singer-songwriter, bronze sculptor and rodeo champion.

In 2000, LeDoux was diagnosed with a liver disease, and successfully underwent a liver transplant. In late 2004 he was diagnosed with cancer and began undergoing radiation treatment.

LeDoux died in Casper, Wyoming. He was 56 years old. He had recently checked into Casper's Wyoming Medical Center following complications from ongoing treatment for cancer of the bile duct, and was surrounded by family and friends at the time of his death. He is survived by his 4 sons, his daugter, and his wife Peggy Rhoads.

Chris LeDoux was 56 years old when he died of a rare form of liver cancer in March, 2005. My all time favorite song of his was "What ya gonna do with a cowboy when he won't go home?" He's written hundreds of songs, and really became famous when Garth Brooks mentioned him in one of his songs. The line was "The worn out tapes of Chris LeDoux" in the song “Much Too Young (to Feel This Damn Old).” After he died, Garth also came out of retirement to sing a song he wrote in memory of Chris after he died last year.

He married Peggy Rhoads, a Wyoming rancher's daughter when he was 28. A song called "Blue eyes and Freckles" is about their son. They had five children - 4 sons, 1 daughter.

He was a little wild in his early days and was as passionate about his music as he was about his early rodeo days.

It made me very sad when I heard about his death,
