It's not always in December. It goes around in the year. First is Eid-ul-Fitr, which is the celebration of the breaking of fast, meaning the end of the Holy month of Ramadan( 9th month of Islamic calendar, the ninth month of the year). During Ramadan, Muslims fast between dawn and dusk. (Islamic fast: the daily fast between sunrise and sunset practiced during Ramadan), when people fast for about 30 days depending on the moon. And then Muslims celebrate Eid-ul Adha as it marks the end of the Pilgrimage or Hajj for the millions of Muslims who make the trip to Mecca each year. These Eids (Celebrations) are determined by the moon and the Islamic calender, and every year they differ by a certain days. So next year the Eids will be on a different day (earlier in the year than this years). So in the next year Eid(s) will be in the summer...

Muslims follow a lunar calendar, and because if this their months will appear ten days earlier each year. this year the hajj does fall in the month of December, but because of the lunar cycles in two years from now the hajj will be in November...the name of the Muslim celebrations are called "Eid"...this means recurring happiness..there are two each year...one at the end of the Ramadan fast...the other at the day of Sacrifice... which is to commemorate the sacrifice of Abraham the prophet(Peace be upon him)
