Ok if you install the drivers and have a connection with the router. which means open your internet explorer and type in

192.168.1.1 for the address and that will take you to your router setup.
For the password field type in admin and press enter.
and read your manual from here since all brands are different.

or just hook the pc back to the cable or DSL modem and run the setup cd that came with it and it will transfer the settings to the router to make it function. Every brand has its own way of doing it.

The first rule applies here..."If all else fails, read directions first!"
There's lots of different configurations you can do with this "stuff" so READ...The more you know the better...Then just get in there and try different things...if something doesn't work, then put it back the way it was and start over again until you figure out how to do it right...
You can "tweak" your Ethernet card settings via Windows Registry settings to go faster on your Internet connection. (CableNut Adjuster)

You can use Open DNS with your router so that you can browse faster also...(http://www.opendns.com/ the instructions are on the site)
And more...Just READ and LEARN.

If it's not working, please be more specific about your problem.

If it is working properly, just get on with your life safe in the knowledge that your router is working perfectly.
