Aloha from Down Unda!
The Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino has a replica of the Eifel Tower which houses a fine dining restaurant overlooking the Bellagio's Fountain display accross the street. It's just fabulous! [& probably 'over the top' but you asked for favorite LasVegas Restaurant.] Second for us is the Top of the Stratosphere, another fine dining experience. We're just not interested in any restaurant that fails to offer a view with the meal. ^-^

The Hofbrau Haus was mentioned as being good. It is a total rip-off. The food is overpriced and not very tasty at all. The beer is way overpriced and the atmosphere is not even good enough to be called schlocky.

Best Thai place is called Lotus of Siam. Look in the Vegas phone book for the address. It is in a tiny strip mall a few blocks off the Strip. Looks like it will be a terrible place to eat BUT Gourmet Magazine rated it the Best Thai Restaurant in the US. It is extremely reasonable. Go for dinner and be adventuresome. Watch out for the spices. Do not ask for any hotter than 5.

Can't go wrong with Mr. Luckys in the Hard Rock Hotel. A 24 hour coffee shop cafe. Be sure to ask for the Triple7. It is not on the menu but, it's a steak and shrimp dinner. You guessed it. It's $ 7.77. I also hit at least one of the In-N-Out locations on every visit. Just look for the large yellow arrow pointing the way. There is nothing better than a double double w/ onions and a chocolate shake. Enjoy!

Lived there many years...but it's been a while. My favorite spot is Yollie's Brazilian Restaraunt. It's not on the strip but not too far off. One price and they serve several courses of different meats (I think 7) that they bring to you one by one and slide onto your plate off the skewer and several side dishes on the table. Seconds or more of any of your favorites of the meats are served after you've sampled all the varieties. They have a piano bar with "mood" music. You can see the cooks cooking over open flame behind plate glass. Excellent service and not terribly expensive, but not cheap. Add alcholic beverages and you'll up your bill, of course.

Hope you try it and if so like it!

I like the seafood buffet at Rio and believe it or not I LOVE the Hofbrauhaus for something different. Wiesse beer and Bavarian food with some(not all) of the rowdy atmosphere of the original in Munich. I love the Hofbrau in Munich so this is as close as I can get to going to Munich without all of the huge expense that comes along with that. Check it out.

When you get to town, grab a City Life and a Weekly. They rate many of the places in town. Try asking bartenders and/or cocktail waitresses where they like. Cab drivers will tell you about places they get kickbacks from and concierge's send you to places they are hooked into. Really too many places to try to write about and you didn't mention what kind of food you like.

Simon at the Hard Rock is really cool "comfort food" with a twist... I also LOVE the Pink Taco at the Hard Rock for Mexican food. America in NYNY makes THE best breakfasts in the city, IMO.

Nora's Italian Cuisine - It's off the Strip a bit. But the best food in town. Jones & Flamingo - quick cab ride.

I don't have a favorite restaurant in Las Vegas.

Have one in Five Mile, though
