Why bother writing it in when you can get a stamp with E Pluribus Unim, the real national motto of the US before religious nuts changed it during the cold war.

Many people throughout time have tried to change the world they live in to better suit their beliefs (or those of someone else). And throughout time, most have them have failed.

You can see with a relitively quick internet search that there are quite a few people who support this cause. I am not one of them. I think that the meaning of "In God We Trust" is much more than it seems. It means that those who follow in our footsteps and who are working with us today must trust in HOPE, which is just about the same as God. Religion, after all, is just a means for people to get together and all hope and pray that they will be loved in the things that come after life.

We must think of these things metaphorically, so that we are not lost every time a new wave of culture tries to sweep us away.

Haven't seen any examples of this personally, and nobody can show me any that they can prove were marked up by "athiests" and "separationists" rather than the person making that claim...

I've never heard of that, but it's not a bad idea. I might have to start.

FYI...It is not against the law to write (or cover) something on a bill or coin. Only in the case of intentionally trying to change the face value, or falsify the bill.

(Otherwise, all the cashiers that mark notes on bills would be in jail). See attached.

Whiners... they're offended by seeing God on anything yet they want freedom of speech for themselves and they get it!
In God I trust. In Christ I'm free.

Yes, just like they are crossing out the "Under God" segment of the pledge of allegiance in public schools, trying to make a Christian nation a godless one to fill the holes in their empty lives.

Very sad.

What's their point? God is God and crossing out His name on a piece of paper accomplishes nothing.

OOOOOh, there goes the nation.
I haven't seen any of that on my money but maybe this is another report off Fox network. They always tell the real story.
