Just turned it on, eveything was fine, scrolled down to choose a song and the screen froze on me, can't turn it off or do anything... please help x

Hold down the center button and the Menu button at the same time for about 5-10 seconds. The iPod will reset itself.
If you're having lots of freezes, you should consider using the "Restore" button on the iPod's screen in iTunes. That will clear off all the contents and reload your songs, podcasts, photos, etc.

plug it into your computer and scan for viruses... no viruses??
then hold down the menu button for about 10 seconds and this will reset the ipod... if this doesn't work take it back and get a new one

slide tht hold switch across then back again, hold the menu and the centre button in for a few seconds and it should un freeze. hopr this helps.

Take it in to a place that fixes those kinds of things. If they can't do it, take it back to the place you got it from and exchange it for another one!!
