Start it up, then press F2 while it says DELL. Then you'll find it there somewhere. You can also make it start up at a specific time.

Under windows XP Pro theres a command line app called ' shutdown '

from command line type:
shutdown -s -t 3600 for shuting down the PC after 1 hour (time in seconds).

shutdown -a cancels any scheduled shut down.


Here the thing is to have everything saved prior to this command to avoid the messages that word or excel pop when trying to exit an there's an unsaved document and the tools prompts you if you want to discard the changes or save them.

go to control panel, if u r in category view switch to classic view. click power options, power schemes. u will see options to turn off monitor and turn off hard disk, just choose the time u want them turned off.
