I moved from Indiana to Iowa. On my 1st day of my new school i hung out with the popular crowd. Then I started hanging out with some other people who were not popular. I only stopped hanging ouy with the popular people cause i thought they didn't like me. Turns out that they actually like me. I really like them and want to be there friends but my other friedns don't want me to ditch them and some of them i am not very ofund of. So What do i do ditch my other friends for the populars or gently leave them for the populars or don't leave them at all?

It depends who you like better. If you like the other people [not the populars] better, than hang with them. But if you think you will be better off hanging with the popular people, then hang with them. It has to be what YOU want to do. Because popularity doesnt matter at all. Its who you like.

Hope that helped!

Maybe you should look at it this way:

The "popular crowd" is really only "popular" with the "popular crowd." The "unpopular crowd" is really only "unpopular" with the "popular crowd". Typically, the "popular crowd" is setting the standard for what's "cool" and what isn't. At the end of the day, you're still you, "popular" or "unpopular". Five years after school is done, you'll come to find out it all amounts to nothing at all.

Try doing what makes you feel best, and don't allow any group or other individual to establish your status or fate because of your choices. Being "popular" or "unpopular" is not important; being happy in your own skin is.

You are like I was. I hung out with 3 different circles of friends.

Go ahead and be with your popular friends. See the friends of the not so popular crowd but see less and less of the people you don't like.

Gradually see them less and less until you are not hanging with them at all.

That's what I did and it worked perfectly. No one was shocked or hurt.

Good Luck at your new school!

It's up to you but at my school most of the popular kids are all mean and make fun of everybody, they will probably stab you in the back sooner or later that is what they did to me. But you need to figure out who your true friends are and then pick from there.

Which ones will always consider you as a friend? I don't think you should ditch the other ones to be popular. You can always have two sets of friends.

Forget popularity. Whose company do you enjoy more? With whom do you feel the most comfortable, with whom can you be more yourself, relax, and have fun? Who do you relate to more?

That will give you your answers. Regardless of which group this turns out to be, you will be joining them for the right reasons that no real friend would begrudge you. It would also be good form to continue to be polite to whichever group you left.

You hang out with whoever you want to, if the "popular kids" like you, then you should be able to bring your other friends to the group to hang out. If they have a problem with it, then they have a problem with you.

Coming from someone who was never popular and never cared to be I think your nuts to go with the popular crowd but it's up to you.

popular crowd is over rated. baby girl, you don't need an acceptance to be who are. just be yourself, find people who will accept you not matter what. those are the real friends you want. popular or not, you just need to find who you are first.
