. In my opinion it is because they have a different mentality when it comes to the fundamental freedoms of this country.
In the Neocons opinion, living in this country mean that you are ‘free’. Like the saying “love it or leave it”, they believe that this country is the apex of civilization and that any negative thoughts or expressions about it are wrong. They are from the old school thought process that you should trust your government because it is looking out for your best interest and that by saying something bad about it; you are strengthening the resolve of those who “want to defeat us”. They believe that a unified front is the best way to defend ourselves against others whom wish to harm us.
What they typically fail to understand is that by attacking the government with your words, you are using the very freedom that the Neocons have for years been trying to give to those in the Middle East, (ironic?).
It is the difficult balance of having a democracy. Its not like they are wrong but its not to say you are either. It’s the balance that occurs out of the discussion and the will of the majority that will decide and even that can change over time.
However, at the same time, you really can’t fault them for calling you what they do because just as it is your right (and duty) to criticize the government, by calling the Bush administration ‘criminals’, you open yourself up for others to call you what they think you are. All they are doing are exercising their freedom of speech rights as well.
Instead of carrying about the labels that they slap on you, maybe you should find ways to help make the situation better. Get involved, vote, do something, just don’t fret because somebody calls you a name.
What I really love about this is how it makes people get on the offense right away and calling people out on things. Granted they all have the right, but instead of asking someone to defend their position, people just yell 'liberal' or 'terrorist', its sad in a way. Instead of learning by spreading ideas, we just all get into a shouting match.

It's not just the Neocons who label you a terrorist sympathizer. Any real American would feel the same way about you just from the things you post. It's obvious that you hate the President so much that you'd rather cozy up with the murderers and terrorists in the Middle East. I can't help but wonder how you'd fare if you had to live with them.

Also, President Bush isn't responsible for the damage that's been inflicted on the world. That's just your narrow short-sightedness that doesn't allow you to see that Freedom is in a fight for it's existence against the murderers who want to take all of our freedoms away. If you feel so strongly about your position, catch a plane to Afghanistan and join up with the Mujahadin. I bet they'd eat you alive!

I am a Republican, not a "NEOCON" and excuse me, I wouldn't label you a "terrorist sympathizer". However, I would question your intelligence. Now, let's discuss sheep, you sound like every other liberal on Yahoo. Come up with something original.

The bush regime IS criminal. Plain and simple. What is the difference between bush invading Iraq or saddam hussein invading kuwait? Iraq didnt attack the US. Any time you allow a bunch of stinking rich lawyers to be in charge of unlimited funds and lives you have trouble. I like the way you think. I am neither liberal nor conservative. I just hate lying criminals who use their position for personal and corporate gain.

It's because that's how they define themselves and the actions of 'their' president -- as anti-terrorists. By extension, any opposition to their worldview must be anti-anti-terrorists, thus a terrorist or a terrorist enabler.

It stems from an eagerness to see the world in terms of one issue only. Where people step back and see the complexities, they are less prone to such deragatory simplifications.

Though it must be said that calling them 'sheep' might not elevate the tone of the exchange... ;)

YOU are the sheep. You lay down at the feet of the islamofascists. Those of us who support OUR President in his effort to rid the world of islamofascist cancer cells would like to see more of them die. Yes, we need to finish it up in Iraq. Then we can move on to killing the iranian weenieman and his syrian goatbuddy.

I have encountered the same resistance. It's truly amazing to me that despite the flip-flops on even the war in Iraq alone that the die-hard Bush supporters still refuse to see the truth!

You cannot command the blind to see!

Good luck, and just know in your heart that you are not alone, and just a couple of years (if they haven't blown up the planet yet) to go with this one! Here's to hoping that Jeb doesn't make it in 2008!

Because they are doing what hitler did. They try to create a 'patriotism' and 'nationalistic' atmosphere where dissention is NOT tolerated, and either you are 'for us or against us'. There is no room for debate. They don't like questions, because they are hiding many lies. And yet they want Americans to sacrifice our personal freedoms in the name of stopping terrorists? That is the WORST kind of person. Someone who will give up our hard won liberties. The terrorists have won, and they are in the Whitehouse.
