Hi, 2 ways

1) If your phone came with a cable and cd, install the cd on your laptop, connect the cable and just send whatever songs you like to the phone,

2) If your phone has bluetooth,

Buy a bluetooth dongle (£10) which is like a memory stick, it slots into your usb socket, (from any pc shop or comet, dixons)
Then just connect your pc to your phone via bluetooth, select your songs and send to phone via bluetooth

Ive found one on amazon for £9.99 and loads on ebay for £4.99

Happy xmas

Your mobile phone should come supplied with a PC connection cable and software to allow you to connect your mobile phone to your laptop. Once you have installed the software and connected your mobile copying over files and music is simple. Open the directory your music is stored in and then minimise the window just enough to see, then open the music directory on your phone and again minimise the window just enough to see then simple drag you music from one window to the other. Hope this helps.

depending on what kind of phone you have, your provider probably offers a special cable that connects your phone to a pc or laptop. (warning: these usually cost about $60!)
also depending on your carrier, you may be able to gain internet access on your phone, then you can just send the songs.
(I have an Alltel Nokia phone that can do both options)
