hey, im a 3d rendering hobbiest with a 2.8 ghz pentum d pc, with 1 gig of ddr2 ram and an nvidia 7600gt 256mb card. My pc has crappy *** stock cooling and i think my cpu gets hott alot. Im just curious to know wether heat dissapation would cause lower performance at times of high load causing lower rendering speeds? would liquid cooling or just a better cpu fan help this. And also, if anyone if familiar with poser, does calculating cloth simulations depend on memory more or cpu speed, cause the tech guy who works for the company said i just have to get more memory to increase simulations, but he souned too unsure.
thanx ;)

CPU temperature affects CPU performance.

CPU performance affects system performance.

System performance affects all running applications.

Heat, regardless of the source, is a killer. Install more case fans, upgrade your CPU cooling, possibly upgrade the fan on your video card if you need to (or get one of those 'expansion slot' coolers... More RAM will almost always help any mathematically intensive application, so your tech is partly right...
