Concierce services are really big right now. For example, you can pick up people's dry cleaning, do their grocery shopping and do their laundry. I have been looking to find someone to pick up and deliver my laundry for ever, but there aren't any services like that in my area. He can also advertise in a different area for his painting services and drive a little farther.

If your father is a good painter, he needs to contact construction companies and contractors. He can also contact paint supply stores etc. where his expert advice would be welcome. You father over extended your families finances with the loan , so he is doing the right thing by selling some of your assets. Its not the end of the world not to have a fancy car or home. If you want to work, its hard for a fourteen year old, but there are some jobs, such as baby sitting, and delivering papers etc. The most help you can be is to help around the house so that your mom and dad are free to take care of what they have to take care of. It makes much more sense for you to take care of the home while your mom works, because she can make more money than you.

Depends on your drive. If you want to make money you can. Odds jobs in your neighborhood I am sure would be plenty from shoveling snow to cleaning cars. None of these things are fun but are a good way to make easy money. Depends on how hard you have to work. DO NOT however sacrifice school (if your even in right now) to do this, education is much more important). But if your like most kids you'll read this get excited for 10mins and go back to your XBox 360 which is part of the reason your parents are in debt....

Not much you can do as a 14 year old...but there are some things.

Help around the house can be a bigger help to them then you may think. Also, try to limit your wants. I dont know your situation but if it is possible, dont ask for $, dont ask for unnecessary rides, etc. Those little things add up.

Take shorter showers
Dont leave doors open

Question:

What is wrong with selling a brand new car?

Well, I know it would be hard but he could try a second job, like something small, and if Mc Donalds hires 14 year olds around your area, you could try working there if that's what you mean.. and theres also Sonic but you have to be 15. Sometimes small restaurants will hire young people to like, mop and sweep or something. I think its only for 2 hours, but it still brings something in.

Anyway here is the link. Also there is no reason to be hesitent because it doesn't require any credit cards and is completely free...

What state are you in? If you are in a state like Michigan, I would say move to the sun belt. The unions ruined the car companies and Michigan.
