I have a Russian Tortoise, and I noticed today that his tail was wagging like a dog while he was walking.I've never noticed this before, is that normal, is he excited or something?

I've never seen that happen before to our tortoise. Does he have food and water? We just have a bowl of water in our tortoise's tank and we give him a leaf of lettuce every day, and hes fine. We once lost him outside for 2 YEARS and we found him ALIVE at the end of our street. LOL

Wagging sometimes means excitement, sometimes means it is going to defecate, sometimes is part of the mating ritual, usually does not mean much.

Thats just what some do when they are happy mine has been doing it for all 6 years i have had it and it is perfectly healthy.
