i have a major problem. i grow up in a family with doctors, surgeons, etc, and for my whole life i was considering on becoming a pschologist.
however, our highschool took us in to discuss our future careers, and i was undecided of what i should.

the problem is, i truly want to be a fashion consultant, where one advises fashion magazines/ celebrites on what to wear. i do want to make a lot of money, and do what makes me happy as well. (i love fashion and clothes)
is there anyone that i can basically talk to about this career?

Oh how your story reminds me of myself as a young lad...
It was always my childhood dream to grow up to be a fashion designer or to be in some other fashion-related field. Today I am a fashion researcher for Hearst Magazine Corporation, which publishes a jubilee of magazines including Cosmopolitan, Cosmo Girl!, Seventeen, and Marie Claire, just to name a few. Basically what I do is research up and coming fashion trends and make predictions about what is hot this season.
My best advice to you is to go to college--not necessarily a fashion school--and major in something like fashion merchandising. Then apply for an internship for a fashion magazine either in the summer or during the fall if you go to school in the city. That's what I did my junior and senior year at NYU, and after college I landed a job at Cosmo Girl! in the fashion department. After that, I basically worked my way up the ladder until I reached my dream job.

Anyway, good luck!
I know I'm fabulous!

I don't know someone who specifically consults with fashion magazines, but I can put you in contact with fashion photographers and model coordinators... who basically coordinate the fashions for photo shoots. If you're interested contact me via my Yahoo! 360 page.
