Totally. It's fun and low stress at that level. I started dancing when I was five and I still dance now over two decades later.
Dancing is great and it inspires in children a healthy attitude about working out and exercising.

Most definately. Ballet helps improve not only their self esteem but their posture! I've been doing ballet since I was 3 years old. The girls who I know who have been dancing for a while have great posture and very good self esteem.

I started at age 3 and thanks to ballet I've always had a greater amount of flexibility then most kids my age. It taught me posture and a sense of grace. It gave me a hobby and kept me active. It's a lot of fun and a nice way to meet friends. I can't think of anything negative about a 6 year old taking dance lessons. I'm sure she'll enjoy it! And if ballet doesn't work out in the future, make sure you introduce her to other kinds of dance as well. Dance and music is universal and its hard not to enjoy at least ONE kind!

I think ballet is great for a six year old becuase it gives them time to meet new kids their age, be active, and learn something new.

I have a five year old niece in ballet and she loves it! It encourages good posture, self esteem and confidence. Plus, they are physically active. Kids these days need more physical activities.

I have a 2 year old daughter who loves to dance too. She dances right along with "Princess Genevive" in the "12 Dancing Princesses" movie!

yes. my studio where i take ballet even starts classes younger than that. as long as you find a good school, though. if you plan for her (assuming your six year old is a girl of course) to keep taking for a while then make sure there arent alot of girls younger than around 12 or 13 on pointe. if they are on pointe earlier than that they could damage their feet badly.

ballet is definatley good or a six year old. its fun and gives them something to do/ look forward to. it also teaches good posture, flexibility, poise, self-control, and "obidience". it is really benificial to the child as well as to the parents. =)
