This is my second pregnancy and I didn't experience this during my first till i was at least 6-7 months. but for about a week now i have been experiencing a pulling, pinching feeling down below. sometimes its in my "cooch" area but other times it's more toward my butt , whatever it is actually hurts for a few seconds then goes away. from what I've read it could be a pinched sciatic nerve. I was just thinking it's too early for any of this to be happening. Is this normal? I don't go to the doctor again for 2 and a half weeks. Any help is appreciated.

I had the same experience. For me it wasn't the sciatic nerve...that felt different. It's sort of that hot needle stab feeling? Really sharp? Usually that's the muscle wall of the uterus stretching. When you've gone through it before, the muscles are stretched already and tend to have good recall. So it just starts a bit earlier. This is what my midwife told me. If the pain travels down your leg, it's sciatica.

I am also 16 weeks and for the past 2 days I've been feeling the pulling feeling down below. I haven't had any pinching but I can definitely relate to the pulling. Actually the feeling reminds me of when you pull a muscle or do too many sit ups or something.
I've been having trouble with my sciatica for about 4 weeks now...on my right side. It only hurts when I first stand up to walk. I don't know how to describe the pain but it hurts and it makes me walk with a limp.

I'm currently 31 weeks pregnant and Ifelt the same feeling in my abdominal area. It's just your uterus stretching and your muscles adjusting to you being pregnant your body goes through alot of changes. The best thing that worked for me was taking a luke warm bath
drinking either clear juice or water and laying down. Remember each pregnancy is different so try to expect the unexpected and think positive it's almost over! and you will have a wonderful bundle of joy soon.

As the person above said, stretch or round ligament pains are the likely cause.
My son was positioned to one side, which caused pain and extra swelling in one leg throughout my pregnancy (I say "extra" because I got pretty darn swollen everywhere!). Because the pain was one-sided and down my leg, my doctor did order an ultrasound of my leg to rule out anything else going on.
Don't forget that you can have conditions completely unrelated to your pregnancy and your doctor will always want to rule those out, too. However, the likelihood is it's complete normal and nothing to worry about.

I think you're okay. All of those muscles, tendons, joints, etc. were already stretched during your 1st pregnancy and will be stretching more easily/quickly this time.
Do get yourself a yoga or exercise ball to sit on. This will help keep all of those muscles toned up and ready for the big event. Sit on it while you watch TV or read or surf the net [if you have a laptop]. This is also good for non-pregnant people with sciatica.

It's normal to feel this earlier in your 2nd pregnancy because all of the ligaments and muscles have been loosened by your first pregnancy and they never go back to the same tightness that they were before children. It's just your body adjusting to the weight of the baby inside you.

Round ligament pain, possibly sciatica but that typically runs down one leg too. I had it w/ all 3 of mine and it's annoying but completely "normal". After your 1st, "things" have stretched out a bit more so that may be why you are experiencing it earlier this time.
