I was a professional Rock Guitarist for over 20 years...
Now with that out of the way...How Long?...Depends on if you have a natural knack for playing and instrument to begin with, and how much time you "devote" to learning and Practice as to how fast it goes...
For me, I couldn't get enough of playing, so I spent on the average 5 to 8 hours a day playing "electric" guitar...
Doing so got me along very quickly and I was playing in a band within 6 months of starting...After that I got good enough to do it for a living for over 20 years...
At my best, I was able to learn over 75 songs (hard with vocals) in 1 week!!!
What I consider to be a hard song to learn is having to play all the rhythm, Lead, and Sing the lead vocals all at the same time...that would take me a 1-2 hours to learn for one song...
Question: How BAD do you really want to play the guitar???
Bad enough to make blisters on your fingers? Bad enough to put aside money to buy better guitars and amps?...
See where I'm going with this...
It's ALL up to you.... :-)

The question is 'nt how long,
It's a question of "do I know how to play! anyone can strum,
patience is the key, take your time and feel the melody thru your finger tips, now dont the fretts feel great? if you play by ear you will be able to feel it better, than if you were taught. on the other hand knowing sheet music helps, I'd upload a copy of (Teach Yourself To Play Guitar) only if you really want to perfect your skill. does'nt cost a thing.

Define 'really good.'
If you're putting time into learning a song, then a week. If you don't spend a lot of time, that can grow into a month or more.
But it sounds like the guitar isn't for you if you're getting bored. Go try something else, like a ukelele.
