Why are rich people so greedy?
Demanding more services for less cash (illegal immigrants), demanding more products for less (blood diamonds) etc.

In return they offer us corporate crime (destroying elderly on fixed incomes), overpopulation (by not paying people a decent wage they increase birth rates), and the destruction of the environment including mine (can you say Hummer, SUVs, private jets, and factories without scrubbers?)

The poor ain't the problem. If you disagree, fix it... bring them into the middle class and get rid of the 'greedy' poor.

Peace

Statistics indicate that in terms of percent, impoverished individuals give more than wealthy individuals. Likewise, when the foundations are there for an impoverished individual to receive support, i.e., free services, they would be more likely able to become "better off".

And lastly, wealthy individuals, who are statistically more materialistic, have more means to damage the environment, whereas, an impoverished person, who may not be able to afford organic food or a hybrid vehicle, is also less likely to own four cars, a yacht, a 2000 sq ft house, and various other energy consuming, planet destroying pieces of crap that they lose interest in weeks, days, or even hours after buying.

I have a question for you: Do you seriously believe your question, or do you simply play at being a moronic waste of space?

I can't imagine how I would be if I had no home or no family. Probably not the most happy upbeat person. Did you know the average poor person in America makes like $5.45 a day begging for money and eats a meal every 17 1/2 hours. Still, America's poor in a sad way is the most richest poor in the world. Why not volunteer at a shelter or program to educate yourself about why their behavior can be so desperate and in return you can contribute to a solution- even if it just helps one person. Good luck!

I don't see a connection between social class and greed, some would say that higher class individuals are more greedy. I definitely don't see a connection between the poor and the destruction of the environment. Poor people may commit more crimes that are visible, or news worthy, but white collar crime is for more damaging to society.

If they demanded all these free services and got them, they wouldn't be poor.
It's easy to dump on a group of people, makes one feel superior -- doesn't it?
Some might dump on people like you -- a limited view of life, likely limited by education, life and/or experience.

Destruction of the environment is usually attributed to petroleum products.
Do you mean they are poor and are oil barons at the same time ? Then yes, they may "offer us" crime, but they certainly are not poor.

I believe you will find that you are wrong. The rich are the greedy ones. Look at any high salaried persons tax return, try a congressman or senator and you'll find they want to deduct all their expenses (maids, cars, home, clothing, lobbyists) from their taxes, or look at how little taxes large corporations pay compared to the minimum wage earners. They are also a lot less likely to be a volunteer. I pick up litter from the side of the road, do you? I volunteer at a nursing home, do you? I take people to doctor visits that don't drive, do you? I live on disability, and am not allowed to work(!), do you. I'm poor, obviously your not!

Before you blame the worlds problems on the poor, ask yourself what you have done to help correct it. Have you mentored a child so he or she grows up with an education and can get a better job? Have you donated time to a homeless shelter and acted as a job guide to find employment? Ok, how about have you volunteered your time to start recycling programs in these "Poor" areas? Well, I have! I see the difference. Instead of complaining, try correcting these problems. You might find out these people, and I do mean people, need education and time, especially men who teach boys to become upstanding members in their communities rather than crime statistics and dead beats. Try it, then talk to me.

I don't know maybe NEED has something to do with it. Poor people don't have the means to destroy the environment given that they had nothing to to with the industrialization that has poisoned our water and air. And that overpopulation you speak of came from the industrialization of this nation and the influx of laborers needed to build just about everything in this country. Once everything was built and production of goods sent off to other countries, millions of people lost job stability which led to their future generations being poor.
I suggest looking into history as apposed to regurgitating the ignorance of your father and grandfather.

If poor people were greedy, they wouldn't be poor, they'd be rich.

The rich write the laws, so their crimes aren't illegal.

(For example, they take no responsibilbity for such criminal destruction of the environment as shipping oil in single-hulled ships that then dump the oil into the water.)

Stop listening to hate radio and make some attempt to become a human being.

You'll be glad you did.

Greed, crime, destruction are all learned behaviours. The circumstances in which we are brought up have a great impact on us. So let us build up an atmosphere free from all these evils so no one can learn or be influenced by these evils!!
