Hey. I'm trying to help my friend find an anime to watch. She's looking for something with romance, suspense and/or gore. Can anyone reccomend some titles? Help is very appreciated.

erm how abt ouran high school host club? it's abt a high school girl who is good at her studies and went into a damn rich school through a scholarship...she then broke an expensive vase at the school's male host club and was made to work there as a host(she have to dress as a male as well)....it's really funny and at the same time romantic at parts....strongly recommended!
you can watch it on youtube.com....search for "host club_1"...there is a total of 26 episodes....

Sounds like your friend is interested in action based love stories. Some series that have a combination that I can think of would be Fushigi Yuugi which has alot of romance and by the second season gets more darker, and has a good deal of suspense.
I'd also reccomend Rurouni Kenshin, which is a samurai series so it will have action and suspense but still has romance. The OVA of Rurouni Kenshin also known as Samurai X would be perfect as it has romance suspense and gore.
The short series Bastard!! would also fit under the category as well as Angel Sanctuary with have a mix of all of them.
I think those would be a good place to start.

Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal has a lot of romance and gore.. It's my favourite anime <3 . Too bad it's only a 4 episode OVA. Basilisk has romance and gore too. A lot of gore.

FOR ROMANCE TYPE- Paradise kiss, nana, emma a victorian romance, ouran high school host club.
SUSPENSE- Yu Yu Hakusho, eyeshield 21, jigoku shoujo, the law of ueki.

An Anime I watch called D.N.Angel has romance in it, and some pretty good action in it too. But my dad got me the DVD's to watch, I don't watch it on T.V.

TSUBASA CHRONICLES (it has romance and you will love it when you see the first episode and if you like chobits there some characters from chobits like Fay and Chi)
CARD CAPTOR SAKURA (or sakura card captor, their are the same characters from tsubasa chronicles but their little and has romance and its very cool)

Try my favorite Anime its called Kodocha(Kodomo no Omocha)
I shown it to many of my friends and they loved it.
I recommend it!!!
