NOTE: This is MY opinion. If you don't like it, then don't use it.

'Uncommon'. I'd have to admit, "Mason Lee" sounds pretty uncommon.

-Real word names: Self explanatory. (But don't use Faith!)

-Foreign word names: Sometimes if you can't look for an American name, you can always move onto foreign names. Just remember to not make it complicated, since one day she WILL have to write her name.

-Putting syllables together: I know this is a stupid suggestion, but it could work. Let's say, you take -te, -na-, and re. Combine and there. Tenare. (Okay, she can do better than me with more thought. I'm just doing an example.)

-Combine two common names: Just like Mason Lee.

-FORGET THE CUTE: Why cute? She needs to know that babies will grow up to be mature. (Especially when her kid will regret her name) Wouldn't it be embarrassing for a teenager punk to have a name like Poni?

Onnen -On-nen (from the Welsh Trefonnen; tref (town) onnen (ashes))
Ayah (Modern English - silk cloth)
Tapanga (African - sweet)
Tayen (tay - en - Native American (new moon)
Axana (ay-zhe-nah; not sure of origins (made it up)
Topanga (Native American (where the mountain meets the sea)
Kismet
Kia
Briseis (the name of Achilles - Greek beloved)
Cameo
Mattea
If she really wants to be different she can go for something like:
Sunset (think of how beautiful they are)
Also there is nothing wrong with the idea of Mason Lee for both.
The girl can be either Masen Leigh or Mayson Leigh.
There are also great ideas to be had at:

Well, my husband and I were looking for names that maybe reminded us of Vegas since we got married there 2 years ago and it's our fav place. We thought of all kinds of crazy ones ( Newton, Vegas, Elvis...etc. ) and then I came up with Sahara. We stayed at the Sahara Hotel when we got married.......now that we know it's a girl it is one of our choices. Maybe my suggestion will help you come up with a special one of your own. My husband got me a book from the library called,

You Called Me What?: The Sun Guide to Celebrity Baby Names by John Perry (Paperback - Mar 1, 2007)
It's about celebrities and thier baby names..... maybe that will help. We decided Sahara will be the middle name and here is our other choices:
1. Charlotte (Charley for short)
2. Darla
3. Lila

1. Jayden
2. Brandon
3. Joseph
