Well I'd say the first thing to do is what everyone has suggested and maybe you've already tried and that's to call the phone if you left it on and go around to the house and car and places you were and see if you hear it ringing. Then the best thing to do is to try to retrace your steps on the day you think you lost it and try to see if you can remember what you did with it. If you believe that you lost it in a 'safe place' such as your house or car, maybe a friends, then do the retrace your steps and think hard about what you might have done with it or how it might have fallen out of your purse or pocket or where you might have placed it.
If its that you think you lose it while you were out, quickly go to the places that you went to, and go to the service desks and ask if there was a lost phone that was found and if someone gave it to them. If all these don't work then the best thing to do would be cancel your service as if you've checked all and still can't find it it's possible someone else might have found it and may be using it and talking with your cell phone service provider on what options you have about loosing a phone.

Call your cell phone. If you can hear it, it's in the house. If you can't, go to other locations you've had it and call it again.
If someone answers, it's probably been turned in to a lost and found and you can simply ask where it is.
If you don't find it today and it's a contract phone, cancel it. Go out and buy a Tracfone. If you have a habit of losing phones, that's the best way to go.

yep- call it and see if you can hear it- in the house, car, wherever you were. if you don't find it shortly call your cell phone provider and stop service on that number just in case someone else has it and you end up paying for their calls!

i'm sure you've tried calling it... try remembering really hard when was the last time you had it... then go from there.
Like let's say you were at mc donald, then go to that mc donald. then where did you go after? go from there
