when i got my nano it came with a disc - she says hers only came with minimal instructions - whats the easiest way to get started?

dial-up would only be a factor for downloading music etc. If she has to download the program (I-tunes) from the website she might be in trouble. If that is the case see if she knows someone with dsl or cable internet who can download the program to disc and then she can put it on her computer.

my friend got a ipod shuffle for chrsitmas and she has a dial up internet connection but she seems to have no problems. If you check the apple consultation page you should be able to find out some information there!...

Get itunes and go from there. If she has dial up that probably means that she has a slow computer. So it might be hard for her to manage it. If her computer IS too slow you might wanna help her out with loading songs.
