This was my favorite stop during a 10-day trip to Greece this past summer. We rented a scooter and covered the entire island from one end to the other. Things not to miss:
1.) The caldera - Words can not explain how cool this is!
2.) The beaches - They were beautiful and have both black and red sand! But the water is COLD!
3.) The sunset - Head to Oia to get the best views. If you want to eat dinner at the same time, there are several restaurants, but book a table early.

Santorini is my fav place in Greece :-)

My friends all thought I was taking photos of postcards and passing them off as my pics cos every shot looked perfect. Not cos of my wonderful photo skills (sorry to say) but cos every where you look is like a postcard!

Go to Thira town, find a funky bar overlooking the volcano playing chilled music and order urself a cocktail. Then spend AT LEAST an hour just sitting and sipping and looking at the amazing view.

Then, find urself a pool and have a nice swim. Afterwards - eat seafood!!

If ur staying, find a bar/club then get up early and go to the black beach (careful the sand is REALLY hot), spend the morning chilling and swimming and then do the same again.

Thats what I did this year anyway :-)

P.s. Unless ur into Volcano's - don't bother going to it - it's REALLY hot and steep!!

hi, have been to Santorini thrice now and can't get sufficient of it. it relatively is an extremely perfect island with particularly breathtaking perspectives over the Caldera (or cauldron) to the dormant volcano. inns selection, my well-known is Perissa it is a large coastline motel with merely the suitable quantity of bars, eating places etc. The livelier motel of Kamari is barely a quick taxi journey, (or water taxi for the time of the day) away. The bus service in Santorini is magnificent and occasional-priced and an extremely good thank you to be sure the island. The cities of Oia and Fira are relatively worth a bypass to, noticeably at nightfall for the excellent sunsets. a good holiday to e book is the sundown cruise the place you're taking a crusing boat out into the Caldera, have beverages, snacks and a buffet onboard on an identical time as the sunlight contraptions, surely a time to get the digicam out. There are journeys from Santorini to the neighbouring islands of Ios and Crete. desire this helps and desire which you e book up, it relatively is an outstanding island.

Santorini is just amazing. See the sunset, see the volcano, see the ruins, see the beaches.
The only thing I'm going to warn you about is the driving. If you are taking buses, fine. But they don't allow women to rent ATVs or cars. I know that's messed up. They tell women that there's a problem with their passport or anything. It's a little scary being on a two way road the size of a one way with a huge bus a few feet behind you.

YES! I loved it there, I liked it better than Mykonos. I had the opportunity to visit an active volcano and actually walked around and explored the volcano. The scenery was beautiful, especially the backdrop of the city. The food's great and so are the people. It was a beautiful island and would love to visit it again.

Yes, I've been there a few times. It's fascinating. If you arrive by boat you first have to go up to the higher level. You have a choice of donkey or on foot, I recommend the donkey. Drink the wine, walk around, soak up the atmosphere. If interested in history, don't miss the ancient site of Thera - Akrotiri.

It's one of the most beautiful and special places in the world, but there is too much tourism and it has spoiled the place. Don't forget to go to Akrotiri excavation, and of course the best place to be is Oia.
