You need to get her to her pediatrician. If diarrhea goes on for more than 3 or 4 days it can cause dehydration especially in an infant.
Take her to her pediatrician or even back to the ER if you have to but don't wait. Keep giving her the clear liquids until then but please get her back to a doctor.

She could be developing lactose intolerance - if she doesn't have a fever and you think it's not flu than it could be that the formula is upsetting her stomach. You can get lactose free formula (I assume she doesn't breastfeed because taking her off formula and nursing her would be the best). But if the ER says give her clear liquids, than give her clear liquids - it's not about what she wants it's about you doing what's best for her. If she's had diarrhea for 6 days you need to get some Pedialyte into her - she's at the risk of dehydrating or getting very weak because she's not getting enough nutriition into her system. Lactose intolerance means that she can't actually digest milk or milk products - it just sits in her stomach and goes bad which is when it causes vomiting or diarrhea. But just because she can't digest it doesn't mean that she won't want it - I used to drink milk for years when I had lactose intolerance - it's not an allergic reaction, it just means you are missing enzymes in your stomach to break the milk down. She may not have had lactose intolerance when she was a baby but now she is developing it. Lots of people have it - entire countries can't drink cows' milk.

Call the ER again and see if you can mix the clear, no flavor pedialyte in with the formula. Half water half the electrolyte solution. I don't know if they allow it but it'd help. At 5 months old, the baby is still very young and it's crucial she keeps her fluids up. Be sure you're using bottled water for the formula, and talk to the doctor about trying her on some baby 1st food bananas, and some rice cereal. It might be the best time to start it. Bananas help bind you up and rice is easy on the digestive system. It's not essential to eat foods to a 5 month old, but often starting on foods or cereals causes constipation. It's essential you talk to the pediatrician (Not the ER) first.

Call her pediatrician because if she has had diarrhea that long she is probably dehydrated. If she wont take fluids orally they may need to give them to her through an IV. It could be so many differnent things from her formula to the Rotavirus. The best thing to do is take her to her doctor so he/she can check her out. Most pediatricians will see a baby that has had diarrhea that long the same day.. if they dont, switch doctors. Take Care honey. Hope your daughter feels better soon.

Frequent vomiting
Abdominal pain
Urinates less frequently (wets fewer than six diapers per day)
No tears when crying
Loss of appetite for liquids

there is a bug going around called the norovirus in which my daughter had it for a week. She is 2. It came on suddenly with her vomitting every couple hours for 3 days straight, I went to the ER and they perscribed her suppositories. After her spell of throwing up she the proceeded to have diaherra for a couple days. I would just suggest to keep her hydrated, hense the dr.s recommeding her drink water, or a better one is pedialyte. Monitor her wet diapers and make sure she is having a decent amount of them. If she crys and has no tears coming from her eyes if she usually does when she crys, then you need to see a dr again, cause she is probably dehydrated.
Set up an appt. with her regular physician and maybe he will be better help for you.

She could be teething. Cut her milk and give her Pedialite (No more then 3 days because babies need there formula) Make sure she drinks lots of liquid but 6 days is a lot if it doesn't go away take her to see the doctor. Never take chances.

You need to take her to the Doctor NOW, She can get dehydrated quickly. They may need to change her formula, try giving her Pedialyte from Walgreens. mix it with water or anything she will drink (NO FRUIT JUICE) Does she have a FEVER? or any other symptoms, try gatorade or pedialyte I would call the pediatrician and maybe change her formula, she may have an allergie, also try the ready to feed, if you are mixing formula it can be something in the water or a change of water or boil the water and let it cool or use bottled water for a while.
We moved and my baby started with colic when we changed water districts. Also Try colic drops.

How long ago was it that you took her to the ER? Call your Primary Care Doctor for your daughter. She could become dehydrated. This is your child and don't let them brush you off. It could be a sign of other things like ear infection. As always no one knows your child like you do so push to have her seen again.

Could be a different things, such as an inflamed illium. Get her in to see a pediatrician quickly. You hear how kids don't live long in poor coutries in places like Africa? They die often from diarrhea that causes dehydration. ER docs are not always the best, get her in to see her own dr. like yesterday.
