James Brown was a wife beater. That negates anything else he did. I, too, thought he was cool up until that revelation. Coolest person to die in 2006 is Joseph Barbera, who gave generations the gift of humor, creativity and fun in Yogi Bear, Flintstones, Tom and Jerry, Topcat, Scooby Doo, etc. RIP and thanks.

Personally, I believe this is a rather bizarre question. But furthermore, it has to be James Brown. He was the man. I don't recall any other cooler people dying. Since I don't remember most of the death's, obviously they weren't "cool" enough.
