I would not be concerned about it. Actually, most newer cars like yours can easily go 7,000 miles without an oil change. Especially if you do mostly highway driving which isn't as rough on the engine.

The more miles a vehicle has on it, the less tolerant it will be of extremes. Running it 4-500 miles over 3K miles won't cause it to blow up or result in engine failure. Just check the oil once weekly to make sure it still has a nice color to it and that it is up to level. If for some reason it is ever pitch black or really dark and the least bit grainy, change it immediately (within the week). The longer oil is in a vehicle, the quicker it breaks down and loses its lubricating qualities. You can have oil in a vehicle, drive it 1,000 miles but then let it sit for 2 yrs and you will need to change it because the oil has broken down to lubricating levels below par.
To sum it up and answer your question, your car can tolerate as more than 3,000 miles per oil change with no permanent damage done (longer with different oils and filters) but try not to go much more because the oil will lose its lubricating qualities and ruin your engine.

No, 4-500 miles won't make a difference, but I still say keep with the 3,000 mile increments. An oil change takes all of 15 minutes and costs $10-15 when you do it yourself. With your car's manual saying 3,000 miles, you should continue to change it at 3,000 miles, not 5,000-7,500. If your car is still under warranty, they can argue that you neglected your engine if you let it go further than 3,000 miles per change as recommended...if something happens to it, you may void the warranty. Make sure you're changing your filter too.

Oh, and if you are putting on less than 3,000 miles in 3 months, then do it every 3 months instead.

It dosent really go by the mileage, at 3000-5000 the oild should be dirty enough to change. If your oil still looks clean enough to get some more miles out of, at 3000 then you can go a little longer. I change my oil when it start getting brown. My vehicle have never seen black oil. Check the color at least once a month.

Generally, not a problem to go 10 or even 20% more in mileage between oil changes.

Unless your driving style is 'severe', such as heavy-duty stop & go driving, taxi or commercial use, or if you drive in very dusty areas. (Dust can work its way into the engine intake or valve covers and mess with your oil. It acts like a fine abrasive on your bearings.)

As long as you are religious about changing the oil filter every time you change the oil, you should expect to get at least 150K miles on your engine as long asf you follow Buick's maintenance schedule. If you take of a Buick 3800 V6 engine, then it will take care of you.

Auto manufactures very when to change oil and filter. If you change oil and filter between 3000 and 4000 miles your Buick will last a long time.

it also depends on time, it's 3 months OR 3000 miles. if the oil still looks ok than it should be fine to go a few hundred miles over.

They say 3000. I change mine at 5000. And I've ran three cars to 500,000 miles with no major problems. Or minor problems for that matter. But I prefer synthetic lubricants.

The manufacturer's change interval on that is probably between 5,000 & 7,500 miles. Going a few miles over those numbers won't hurt. Since you're changing it much more frequently there's nothing to be worried about.

stick to what the handbook or the producer tells you. in my opinion, I in basic terms substitute my oil each 15,000 miles with Mobil a million prolonged Mileage synthetic and a cellular a million or ok&N oil filter out. I force approximately 35k miles consistent with 12 months.
