If you have a once upon a child in your area, they sell gently used clothing, and strollers etc. Umbrella stollers are $10 at wal-mart. I'm not sure if they sell used carseats or not. But, I would really try not to use a used carseat. Just for the fact you don't know where it came from, if it was in a car accident, what kind of damage was done to it. I am in st. louis, and I know the fire department (I think that is who does it) offers people of low income to rent a car seat. I would call the local hospital and see what they can tell you.

One thing I remember doing was almost the whole time I was pregnant I signed up for just about every free offer for baby stuff that I could. I got several coupons and samples of formula, diapers, and other baby items in the mail and best of all it was all free. Sign up with Enfamil especially, they always sent me stuff. American Baby Magazine sent me a free subscription for the first year of my new motherhood.

Also, Yahoo! has a group called freecycle in Yahoo!Groups. Just look up your city or the closest city to you and sign up to get daily e-mails. Post what you need and someone may get back to you letting you know they might be able to help you out. The best part about this group is that one of the rules is if someone is offering something you need they can't charge money for it. It is completely free.

I'm not sure of any sites on line, but look up community resources in your area. Goodwill, churches, freecycles (these are online), etc would be a good place to start. Do you have any friends or family that may loan you something temporarily? What about local mom's clubs? You can search for those on line too. We also have a 2nd hand children's consignment shop called "Once Upon a Child". Maybe there is one in your area or something similar?

Did you people ever think that maybe they are working but they only get paid maybe minimum wage and work their butts off. Don't be so quick to judge people. You may be in their shoes someday. You don't know their circumstances. Also people become disabled or are temporarily hurt from an accident of on the job injury. Quit being so stuck up!

sheesh, why are all of you on answers so mean to low income mothers. She is not on here begging for stuff, she is just asking for advice on where to get it. Stop judging others and get a life.
A good place to check is on yahoo freecycle, they usually have local groups. Good luck and God bless.

You people are RUDE! You are bitter, mean, and just plain evil.
Unless you're a mother, you have no business making assumptions on her.
Try this site: www.freecycle.org
Good luck. If you lived near me - I'd give ya my stuff. I'm a single mom and know how expensive babies are.
