scarves and women?

Why do women wear scarves around their neck which are doubled and the ends put through the loop part. It only takes a perv a second to get hold of the ends and she is trapped or strangled

I'm a woman - and I don't wear my scarf like that, so the answer to your question is that "some women wear their scarves like that because they want to" (and yes, it really is that simple". But it's important to note that not all women do.

And if a pervert/criminal/whatever really wanted to strangle a woman; they would find a way to do it, with or without a scarf that's been doubled with the ends put through the loop part.

Actually, it would be extremely difficult to strangle someone with a wide soft scarf. On top of that, I have never heard of a mugger strangling anyone. It takes too long and they don.t want to be spotted killing someone. They want out of there fast.

If they have the idea of killing anyone in public, they use a gun.
They can fire the gun and run away quickly.

I wouldn't worry about being strangled in public, much less by using a pashmina.

They would quickly be spotted and stopped by everyone around them long before the person would die from strangulation. It takes longer than most people think, to strangle a person.

AND, it would take forever using the pashmina they're wearing.
The scarf has too much stretch to it.
