Why do you wear make up??

Question

I dont understand why people wear make-up! because i see beautiful people and they cover their face with foundations! so if you are wearing make-up... why? is it to cover spots? or to make you look more attractive? All my friends wear make-up when there is nothing wrong with then NOT wearing it!! It is just a habbit for then now! im over 20 and still not wearing it. Am i wierd???? (although people think i am wearing it) so this may be a silly question to some people, but i want to know why individuals put foundations, then powder, then blusher, etc,,,

i hope people dont feel insulted by this question. I just would like to know your oppinions

Most people wear makeup to enhance their natural beauty, not to cover it up.
So its not really fair to stereotype make-up wearers as 'not loving themselves'.

I wear makeup because I like it. But I only use it to enhance my best features and to diminish what I consider are my weak points. For example my eyes are kind of droopy and with make up I can make my eyes look bigger, alert and pretty. I never overdo it because I don't want to look gaudy. Luckily I still have great skin, so I use makeup sparingly. I put on sunscreen, then a little powder, mascara and brown shadow as eyeliner, natural lip color, a little blush and I absolutely must do my eyebrows. If I go out in the evening I like to use red lipstick. I love the BeneFit brand and I use Kiehls for my daily skincare regime.

Ok, here are the reasons why I wear makeup:
1.) I think it's fun to experiment with different colors and types of makeup.
2.) I think I look better with makeup on.
3.) I wore makeup when I was young because I felt more grown-up, and I kept on wearing it.
4.) If people ever saw me without makeup they'd be like, 'whoa!'
5.) Makeup makes me look more polished and done-up, also more ladylike.

So, that's why I wear makeup, although i don't know about other women and their reasons. You should be glad that you never wore makeup, because now you can only look better. If you feel you don't need makeup and people think you wear makeup, then you are probably naturally gorgeous and you don't need makeup anyway. As long as you feel confident and beautiful, that's all that matters. You're not "weird", you're blessed with a beautiful complexion!! So work it!

Just because a person wears makeup, does not mean they are fake like so many people seem to think. I know a lot of girls who wear it and certainly do not look fake. I waer foundation once in a while because I used to have severe acne and now I am left with blotchy skin somedays.

I wear eye makeup as well. Thats not covering natural beauty, its enhancing it.

I don't wear makeup, I mean I'll wear it if i'm going somewhere like the school dance for example, and i might put some lip gloss and a light light eye shadow if I'm going to the movies with friends or something, but other than that I don't wear any makeup

I think makeup makes people feel more self confident. Unforunately, not many people know how to put makeup on effectively. It's not supposed to look like you are wearing makeup. Especially not during the day.
I wear makeup because I have very uneven skin tones. But I don't like wearing makeup if I don't have to because it's a pain in the butt to take off!!!

I'm 17 and if I do wear makeup it's very light and just to enhance my best features(for me it's my eyes and lips). All I wear is light powder foundation eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara, sometimes some bronzer on my cheeks to add some shine and a lil lipgloss

I wear makeup because I feel real pale without it on. i feel better also with it on.. i have braces and makeup kinda distracts a bit away from my braces,.....also, I work and sleep late so I have big bags under my eyes so I cover it up. I do my eyes because I feel it stands out the most, ofcourse I use light makeup for eyeshadow, i use mascara to make my eyelashes stand out, and eye liner to outline my eyes since they are big. i use blush to also put some color in my face and lipgloss to top it off..

i think of makeup more of an enhancer of beauty rather than a big cover up of your whole face..

I wear it because it's fun. I love all the different styles and creating new looks. I don't always wear makeup and I don't feel like I need it. I don't think anyone is weird for choosing not to wear makeup. Makeup is a form of art and it can be a great way to express yourself.

I am only 15 and i wear makeup.. but i don't wear all that foundation stuff because it clogs your pores and the people who wear a whole bunch of foundation tend to break out in acne.. so then they will wear more foundation to cover up the acne.. i only wear eye makeup and blush!
and you are not weird for not wearing makeup. a lot of people who don't wear makeup have natural beauty :)

Society pushing down on people. I don't understand either. I know some girls they're so beautiful and they wear so much make-up it makes them look scary. I wear mascara for longer lashes and chap stick from the cold. When I go out maybe some eyeshadow to enhance my eye color but that's it.
