I am 28 weeks pregnant and I know that there is going to be increased vaginal discharge and all. But my doctor says my fundus, the hieght of my uterus is small for 28 weeks, it measures the size of 22 weeks. And it might be because of fluid problems, would I be able to tell if I was leaking fluids?

Your doctor can check if you are concerned. They have these strips of paper that they wipe along you vagina that can detect amniotic fluid. I had low amniotic fluid with my first pregnacy. My doctor just kept a close watch on it and did multiple ultrasounds which can check the amounts of fluid and fetal distress tests to monitor the baby. I delivered a healthy 8lb 3oz girl. Most likely you are not leaking fluid. If the doctor was concerned about that he probably wouldnt have checked since if you were leaking that means there is a tear and the an infection can occur. I would call your doctor and talk to him about your concerns. He should e able to put your fears to rest. Good Luck and Take Care. Congrats!!!

an enhance in discharge is elementary for the time of being pregnant. Lie down for a nil.5 hour or so with a sparkling pad on. once you arise observe the quantity of flluid on the pad. Amniotic fluid has an extremely distinctive scent, like bleach or Comet. If there is under a teaspoon finished or 2 and there is not any scent you're maximum possibly in simple terms having a classic discharge. day after today call the scientific expert and ask in the event that they have try strips for checking fluid leakage.

Yes, you would know if you were leaking. It would be like slow constant pee. Are you sure that you are 28 wks? I'm assuming that you've had an ultrasound already. Are you small in size?

I would think that a variation of -6 weeks would be enough for the doctor to order additional testing. More u/s, nst's, biophysical profiles and such. I'd give them a call and ask.

Good luck!

yes you would be able to tell. First your panties would be wet all the time. Second it has a very distinct smell. It's a really sweet icky smell, not gross persay, but you'd be able to tell it's not urine or anything else for sure. Now, if your doctors not too worried, then I would TRY not to worry too much too. Be sure you're drinking plenty of water. Your body replaces the amniotic fluid about every three hours. Be sure to follow all your doctors instructions too. If you're still concerned about it, call him up. It's his job, and I'm sure he would be more than happy to put your mind at ease. Good luck, I hope this helps a little bit.

Not always, I am the mother of five children and I have experienced a leaking bag and preterm labor. If you think there is any chance your bag is leaking call your doctor immediately and go to the hospital.

Don't worry too much there...

I had a bit of a problem with my amniotic sac....I wasn't retaining water...so the doctor made me intake more salt into my diet and after that I was fine...

Though my doctor had me on a serious regimine of vitamins (29 pills a day).
