I do know because of a dry skin tendency several of my black friends apply petroleum jelly after a shower, that could be something a person might detect different.

I have noticed around the gym that the black guys are more careful about hygiene that many-non blacks and have way less sneaker and foot odor too.

several wear cologne and only a few white guys do.

The reality is that we all smell different. I don't know about the whole black/white thing, but as Americans we have an order all our own. Diet has a lot to do with it. For instance, when I was in Korea, the smell like Kimchi, but they always said that we smell like Cheese or Chicken; two main food we eat on a regular basis.

More than likely it is diet related. One body reacts differently to a certain food than another body and gives off different oils and gases.
