In the sort run, at least, stronger. The American people and media will not be as willing to accept the neo-con's nonsense and their influence will continue to fade. Elimination of the perception that theirs is a legitimate movement can only strengthen America on all levels.

That question has more tentacles than an octopus.

Weaker--because we've shown the world how thin is the veil of democracy, truth, and freedom in America; how easily those things are manipulated, by our press, by our government , and by ourselves. Weaker, because it's evident to the world that 'we the people' have lost control of our government. Weaker, because to fund this war we've put our economy in jeopardy for years to come. Weaker, because we've sown seeds of discord and hatred among nations which were (relatively) neutral before we invaded Iraq. Weaker, because our military is stretched to it's limits in some areas for all to see. Weaker, because there are many serving who recognize how badly they've been betrayed. Weaker, because we've caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people, and we can't erase that stain. Weaker, because under this administration, funding for science and education has been hijacked for war and no-bid contract payments, and without an educated population we can't compete in the global marketplace.

Stronger--IF--we as a nation learn from these mistakes. Stronger, if we don't slip back into the complacency and ignorance that let this corrupt adminstration take power. Stronger, if we use this opportunity to develop alternative energy sources, so we're never dependant on foreign oil again. Stronger, if we put corporate America, and the religious right in their proper places and prevent such interests from lobbying or funding political candidates. Stronger, if we require all politicians to be vetted to expose financial conflicts of interest before taking office. Stronger, if we roll back the changes to our laws in the last 6 years that weaken our human and civil rights. Stronger, if we can turn the kind of scrutiny on our government and ourselves that creates true acountability. Stronger, if we make education of our populace of primary importance (how does free schooling through Ph.D. level sound? Iraq had that, before we invaded). Stronger, if we do all of this in a way that lets us rebuild our credibility and our relationships with other nations again.

I could go on, but...those are big 'ifs.' We have a lot of work to do, as a country, and I'm not sure we have the national will to do it. We are so fractured, amongst ourselves, that I question our ability to find common ground from which to make a new beginning. I also sincerely hope I'm wrong about that.

It depends! if the Democrats get their way and we withdraw prematurely then weaker.
Just look at our recent history we invaded Iraq, almost immediately Libya abandon it's weapon program, Saudi Arabia started granting more civil rights to it's citizens Syria and Iran got scared.
Then the Democrats step in with their divisiveness the rest of the Arab world took notice that we are divided so now Iran has said they are going ahead with their nuclear program and the basic turmoil is increasing all over the Arab world.
What a lot of Americans don't realize that once a nation has made a decision and you constantly start to create divisiveness and second guessing on that decision there is a price to pay down the road.

Weaker. Bush's arrogance by defying the U.N. and starting a war (on faulty info: Bush's usual made up bu**shi*) has already ruined America's credibility across the globe. If that wasn't bad enough he is now breaking down the economy of several countries and killing MILLIONS of innocent people around the world with his lies and greed. I can only hope and pray that there is a special place in Hell for the likes of him and Hitler!

Weaker because everyone who is making those bad decisons at the white house about the war are sinking us deeper in the hole finanically and is causing more troops to die. More troops in Iraq my @ss we dont need any more troops there. If we were going to win the war on terror we would have won it already. You can defeat those terrorist they dont give a rats @ss if they die. Dying to them is honorable so it doesnt matter how many of those terrorist we kill its not hurting them or their cause. As for peace in Iraq that will be the day when hell freezes over.

Hey Im just speaking the truth sorry if you people that give a thumbs down to my question cant face the truth.

I thought we were fighting to keep our nation safe, not to make it stronger. Would being safe make us stronger? I guess if that is the case, and we truly are obtaining our goals in Iraq, than the country will be stronger. I do not know for sure, as no one does.

Well, there is no say yet. If we succeed, we will be even stronger. The ending is unpredictable. There are many things that could happen like us pulling out or the UN deciding we need to pull out. Each one brings something different.

If we win with honor, we will be stronger.
If we wave the white flag and retreat (pull-out), we
will be the weaker nation, of course.,

Weaker, financially. Hear that vacuum? That's all our tax dollars being sucked out of the country to make private contractors (and pals of Bush and Cheney, etc) rich.
