Yes. It really and truly does. It hurts to get ANYTHING pierced... I've had thirteen piercings and not one of them was painless.
Ears aren't bad. They're easier than most piercings, but... you're still shoving a bit of metal through your skin to create a hole. It's bound to be a little painful.

Just for a second, that is if you go to the mall and have it done. The piercing gun makes more noise than the actual piercing hurts at the time. Make sure they mark the holes for a target and check them in a mirror before they pierce your ears. You may have them move the targets some.

I pierced my own with a large needle and a cork the first time in the usual spot and it was 10 times more painful than the mall. Of course you have to be real careful to make a straight piercing if you do it yourself.

If you choose to have a friend do it, attach a clothes pin to your earlobe or hold an ice cube on the front and back of your lobe for several minutes and it will deaden the spot.

When I had both of mine double pierced at the mall I hardly felt a thing. That would be my choice overall.

To be uncomplicated, it feels greater like a speedy and blunt pinch (would not sense like a shot), somewhat the only discomfort is the 2nd as quickly as they're pierced and then the throbbing after that persevered for a on an identical time as. i could probably cost it like a 4-7, sharp at first (7) yet then boring and throbby for a on an identical time as (the 6, 5, and four). yet in basic terms stick to the guidelines they provide you, particularly the cleansing section and earring substitute section. i do no longer recommend donning the dangling jewelry for a month or 2 after in basic terms till the holes are closed up much greater, in basic terms shop on donning the posts and keeping it sparkling. i do no longer completely undergo in suggestions the way it felt cus I have been given it completed while i replaced into in 5th grade yet I did could get one area re-pierced and that replaced into nevertheless a looong time in the past yet the two way it felt the comparable. I mean yea it harm kinda undesirable at first, that's a pointy discomfort I won't lie approximately that, yet it somewhat is not sufficient to get labored up over or you will psych your self out and it will sense worse! anyhow, savour your jewelry :)

its more like a stinging sensation that hurt. I've had mine done and it stung, it didn't hurt. I guess everyone feels it differently though. Just make sure that you have someone who is trained to pierce your ears do it, you wouldn't want someone who is an amatuer because then your earrings might be lopsided with one higher than the other (happened to my sister when her friend pierced her ears).

For like, 2 seconds and then it's totally gone. The pain isn't even bad while it lasts.

No it doesn't hurt. You only feel a tiny little pinch for a couple of seconds and that's it.
