High heels, light colored pants or pants with vertical stripes, or lifts in your shoes, like Tom Cruise wears so that he's as tall as Katie Holmes (his newest wife).

Straight leg, not boot cut jeans. I saw an Oprah show that had Stacy from What Not To Wear on and she said those were the best. (I paid close attention, since I am the same height). Also, I usually wear boots or clogs, since I don't like heels either. There are so many clogs out there that are not clunky or heavy. Also, wear shirts that end at your waist line, long shirts/sweaters will cut your legs in half. I have to disagree about the capris. I feel like a midget when I try them on. And put your shoulders back, head up high and be thankful you're not 6'1'' !!! :)

Please do me a favor and don't wear plat forms or anything silly like that. Since you are petite you need clothing that is fitted to your body. Try a nice open neckline so your neck looks longer. Wear pants that are hemmed so that they hit your feet perfectly and try wearing pointy toe shoes, it elongates the line of the body. Also when wearing dresses keep at or above the knee anything longer will drown you. Remember that 5'1" is a perfect height (I'm 5'1" too). Being petite makes you automatically cute.

i have exactly the same problem. 5'1'', not a fan of high heels, etc...
What i usually do is wear higher waisted pants and steer away from the new trend of wearing long shirts that reach halfway down your butt. Shorter lengthed shirts and higher waisted pants gives an allusion of longer legs. Short shorts also work well too

Try the Alexander Technique to improve posture or take up yoga to make you limb look elongated. Wear your hair up to give the illusion of height or even just small heels, if you don't like high heels. HTH : )

Yip... I'd pretty much agree from what other people have said about the pinstripes! Also wear high belts (the big type) to define a higher waist and therefore make your legs look longer. ps: also long skirts make short people look shorter so something knee length or above should show more leg and help you avoid looking frumpy.

Skinny pants will help your legs look longer. There are lots of nice dress shoes that aren't necessarily high heels that will add a couple of inches too.

I agree with Chrystal. (And a few others.) Open neckline, don't wear long skirts or pants that are too long, wear pointy-toed shoes, heels are good (they don't have to be high), etc.

Don't wear bold prints (especially on top and bottom) and don't wear too many layers. They just overwhelm us short gals.

Try some nice dress pants that have a very nice cut. They make everyone seem taller and sleeker.

High heels are very good for that, suits, vertically striped shirts, dresses, long skirts, not short skirts or horizontally striped shirts.
