A football player who couldn't walk and chew gum at the same time or a drunken singer who beat his wife?

Well, going back a while, I know who James Polk is (sorta), I have no idea who the big American musicians were. then, we all heard of the big Vienna musicians, but I couldn't name an Austrian leader from the 19th century.

I think James Brown had more effect on the world, because people listened to his music and acted on it. Someone may have got into a car accident, fallen in love, or calmed down from a fight while listening to one of his songs.

Ford, well, he didn't really accomplish anything, just kinda a layover between Nixon and Carter. He had a few Saturday Night Live jokes about him, but no real policies. He'll be remembered more though, because all US presidents have their photos up in universities and are in the standard textbooks.

Ford was president for 4 years, after that what? I am not saying he didn't do anything, but name 3 things you know or remember about Ford when he was president!

James Brown, his legacy and music are timeless and will live on for ever. He was a mouth piece during the civil rights movement. He taught many inner city youth about entrepreneuralism. Was the modern day creator of Funk Music and his dance moves and music layed the foundation on the most influential music and culture on the planet right now, Hip Hop!

Michael Jackson, MC Hammer, Usher, Justin timberlake just to name a few credit parts of their dance style to that of James Brown.

Even though they died about the same time, in who is really gonna remember that? They were totally different individuals. One music the other politics.

Gerald Ford had more influence in the political arenas of the world. Basically, he was just trying to keep the messes from the previous President from getting any worse.

James Brown had more influence, through music, on how the black population thought of themselves. They developed more confidence in themselves and what they can accomplish.

They each will be remembered in their own individual contributions to the world.

Gerald Ford.....I'm sorry, but I really don't think James Brown did anything special for music.
Anyone can repeatedly say "good god, have mercy.....uhhh" into a microphone over and over again to a groovy bass part.

Neither. In the grand scheme of things, in 100 years nobody will remember either of them. Or us for that matter.
