I must admit I would prefer a democrat and at the moment he beats the crap out of what was available Barack and the Hillary just don't do it for me. I would go with McCain over either.

If you're looking for someone to be leftist, Edwards is not you're man. He's a Southern Democrat which means like Bill Clinton, he'll be more centrist than liberal. He's announcing his candidacy in New Orleans to demonstrate that US citizens don't need, and should not rely on the Federal Government. Not a very liberal concept. But, I love him and will vote for him. Then again, I'm from NC so there's a bit of state pride there as well.

I cna't give you a non-biased answer here- I'm from NC and was proud to have him as a senator.

However, I think he and the senator from Illinois are the two people who are the most ready to lead this nation at this point. Edwards is a strong personality and he knows the difference between attacking the policies and attacking the person, and as shown in the 2004 campaign, does the former but not the latter. He is decidedly a moderate, and is a man of good morals and is very intelligent.

Democrats from the south seem to do very well in presidential elections. Edwards seems to be fairly moderate which would be good for the country. He did very well in the debates with Cheney as a Veep candidate. I agree with his stance on most issues, particularly Iraq. If he gets the nomination and can define himself, rather than letting himself be defined and slandered by the opposition, he has a solid chance of being the next president.

I'm not a Democrat, but an Independent. But, after the last six years, I have no doubt I'll be voting Democrat come 2008. Edwards is somewhat appealing to me, I liked him very much after seeing him on the Hardball College Tour. Right now my choice would be Hillary, but I'm open to other possibilities, as long as they aren't a Republican.

I HAVE 3 PURPLE HEARTS! WHAT DOES EDWARDS HAVE OTHER THAN A SMUG SMILE AND A CUTE LITTLE SOUTHERN ACCENT?

Want to see them?

I got this one for pulling a splinter out of my butt.

I got this one for a blister I developed playing handball.

And I got this one for picking my nose until it bled.
