For my major I have to take an acting class. We need to have four monologues chosen for the first day.

“Two classical and two contemporary. The classical can be anything from Greek to Restoration. Contemporary can be anything from the nineteenth century to yesterday.”

Give me the names four you love, or think would be great for someone without much theatre experience. I would like to have some interesting or fun choices, but I would have no idea where to even begin.

So, if you are bored, give me some answers and remember to say why you chose the ones you did.

Thanks,

Sorry, I guess there is no reason you would have to give four. Your favorite monologue will do.

Spoon River Anthology has some great monologue's. It 's a collection of them and has one for male, female, young and old.

The scene in MacBeth where the murderer is trying to wash the blood from his hands. "out damn spot". (it's actually a guilty conscience - there is no spot).

The other two should be original.
