I've had different offers from friends but I'm just thinking how else I could spend the money that it will cost- Usually at least a couple of hundred quid. Am I just being a boring f art?

Tricky one......being someone that is not able to go out, due to being a single Mum, then there is half of me that says go, cos although I say that I am not too bothered spending new years on my own, when it gets to midnight i do think about all those lucky people that are out partying......but on the other hand, I think I would much rather save the money, buy a good bottle of wine or bubbly and watch the fireworks in the warm and with a much better view than I'd have if I was out1!!!! Not much help am I ....he he, have a really Happy New Year whatever you decide what to do.....x

I'm with you - what's the point in spending all that money on a night out? Everyone's out to rip you off, from pub owners to taxi drivers. It's not like you'll have a better time than on a normal Friday or Saturday night for having spent the extra. In fact it'll be less fun because of the crowds and the dilution of the normal crew with all the people who are only there because they feel like they've got to go out on NYE otherwise they're sad.

I am so with you on this one.

Get some beers, some big bags of crisps, stick a pizza in the oven and stay in...and viola you are £200 better off!

Think about it...one night out in a few days... or... a big chunk off your summer holiday bill? I know which I would rather have...

Oh and Happy New Year to everyone! Here's wishing you a great 2007. (However you see it in!)

No, NYE is over-rated and over-priced. My hubbie will be away anyway, so i've invited a girl friend round and maybe we can try some f*nny fun! (not joking).
