I searched that there are about 80 dialects spoken in the Philippines. The main language is Tagalog. Tagalog is mainly spoken in Metro Manila and used in the mass media.

English is spoken in the Philippines. They use English in government, schools, business, and everyday communication. But now, people have some problems understanding and communicating with each other because they can't afford to learn it.

In the early days, English was a popular language in the Philippines. Whether you are poor, in the middle, or rich.

for your information... there are 100 dialects in the philippines, that includes the native or tribal dialect. TAGALOG IS NOT A NATIONAL LANGUAGE. Tagalog comes from the word "TAGA-ILOG" which mean " from the river".Therefore, TAGALOG IS JUST ONLY ONE OF THE DIALECT. During the time of President Manuel L. Quezon when the tagalog dialect was introduce to be the basis/medium in order to develop a national language. Tagalog dialect is only spoken in the provinces of bulacan, cavite, rizal, manila, batangas and southern luzon. While the cebuano dialect is widely spoken in cebu, bohol, siquijor, ****** oriental, southern leyte, davao, cagayan de oro, butuan, surigao, zambonga, gen. santos city, and the rest of the provinces in mindanao. There are alot of Filipinos who speak the cebuano dialect than the tagalog dialect, this base on census and population.. how's that?
