Good things always seem to happen to bad people (i.e. Cheney) and bad things happen to good, undeserving people...WHY???!

Because if there’s no pain there’s no gain.

When good things happen to us, we do not grow, but rather settle into the way we already are. When bad things happen to us, we are challenged to change who and how we are.

Bad people, by definition, are full of themselves and don’t want to change. Good people, by definition, are humbly striving to change themselves into better versions of themself. But no matter how much better good people become, they cannot become perfect. Ergo, their endless path toward perfection is punctuated by the changes wrought by the bad things that continually happen to them.

In short, since good people want to become better people, but changing into better people is hard to do on their own volition, bad things happen to them in order to motivate them to change. God is behind this process as illustrated by the bad He allowed to happen to the most good person who ever lived, His Son via the cross.

Good things and bad things happen to EVERYONE. No exceptions. See Matt. 5:45. What kind of arrogance would make someone think that because they adhere to some belief system or other that they would somehow become exempt from the laws of nature?

Because good people care more about others than themselves and as a result, their self care suffers as far as, but not limited to, health, finances, housing, career, etc. They are also subject to being taken advantage of.

So-called "bad" people put themselves first and as a result reap the benefits of a self-centered lifestyle by not donating their time, energy and money to others. Because of this, they have more and enjoy the benefits of gaining more based off of what they already have.

The key, as with everything in life, is balance. Give, but don't give so much of yourself that you sacrifice your own well-being.

Because the masses do nothing to stop the bad people and the good people let bad things happen to themselves.
