It's been days now i've been encoutering problems ordering with my credit card. The following error message is always displayed when placing an order "card declined"

I'm always told to contact my card issuer anytime i spoke with the retailers. I called my bank several times but they kept assuring me there's nothing wrong with my card - i'm confused!!

Can anyone notify me if there's any online site, which always display reason of card declination on the web interface for every order attempt, instead of "card declined". Pls help?

Did you activate your card before using it?

Cj is correct it most likely AV'S. The address you submit to the place of your purchase must mach the address on file with your credit card.

Make sure the place you use the card is legit. They are a lot of bogus websites that fool people into giving them their credit card info and on the purchase page it comes back as declined but they have your card number.

A good place to test out to see if your credit card works is google checkout. They will authorize $1.00 which will be removed in about a week. If it does not go through. Then there is a problem with your card.

Your card will be declined for 1 of 3 reasons (that I can think of)
1. Insufficient Funds/credit
2. Address provided does not exactly match address on credit card bill
3. error on security number (3 digit code on signature line)

Somewhere on your card should be the companies website, probably on the back. Go to their site, you will probably have to register(free), and then you can check your account details.
