I heard this also on the news last night that the fda had approved this. My biggest worry is what if two cloned animals who have the exact same dna reproduce. What happens then? Humans used to have to have blood tests to make sure we didn't marry and reproduce with close family members because it messed up the kids. I guess now we reproduce alot before marrying so it became a moot point. I at least hope that the packaging will let us know if the meat we are eating is cloned or not so WE can make the decision on whether to buy and eat it or not.

Currently, the FDA announced that meat and milk from cloned animals possesses the same level of dietary value as that from naturally born livestock. In other words, there is no general difference between the two types of food that they provide. The idea behind this is that this would limit the problems of animal diseases that would injure the market for such food sources (i.e. Mad Cow Disease and Avian Flu). Also, by having cloning procedures improved to the point of fast replications of current animals, costs would drop, allowing for a higher consumer payout for the same items. However, the FDA's current findings do need some more speculation since these were preliminary results.

Well you probably know that a few animals have been cloned right? Well, the Federal Drug and Food Association has made it safe to eat from these cloned animals. Thats all.

Meat is meat. The way the animal was conceived has nothing to do with the quality of its meat. If the muscles of the animal were not normal, they wouldn't function and the animal would die. But even then it would be safe to eat. DNA has nothing to do with it. All the meat we eat is loaded with the animal's DNA, (so is the plants we eat for that matter) which our digestive tract breaks down into amino scids, which our cells then use to build human DNA.
