When you say "alone" do you mean with out anyone else?? Or are you with your buddies? If that's the case and its a guy day out then its not selfish--HOWEVER consider that maybe she is a rare and growing breed of woman that enjoys these events as much as you do and be happy for that --You have a good Friend with one that holds the same interest as you...So maybe you should invite her along at least some of the times ---and then you both will be happy ---but to exclude her always is hurtful to her and in the long run your marriage too

Personally i think there are times when men and women should leave each other alone. maybe what you need to do is find SOME events to do together and some things that are just for you... as she needs to find some things that are just for her. A little alone time can help you miss the other person and make the time together that much better. But be gentle about it and make sure that you give her equal consideration for the time that you are NOT with her....

No but there has to be communication. She wants to spend some time with you. If you want to go to a sporting event alone, tell her and let her know you two will also do something together even if it's not something you want to do. Do it for her and she will be more open and understanding when you want to go out. But don't leave her out, we all want to feel included and needed.

You really don't like your wife or this wouldn't be an issue. You are trying to create an escape from her. Maybe this wasn't already self-evident, but now you know. Tell her that you want some time to yourself. Hopefully you miss her when you are alone. If not, you're in trouble and it's only a matter of time before the situation deteriorates.

What you should do is dedicate a couple of sports that arent interactive for yourself, but also involve your wife in some sports that both of you can do , such as coed softball.
It isnt selfish, however, i think that you need to take advantage that your wife wants to do sports with you because it rarely happens. Take care.

Not selfish it is healthy to get away... But some guys would like their wife to be interested in the same things and want them to go.

Todd, there is nothing wrong with you wanting to go to a game with guys. But please make sure that you take your wife somewhere too.
She's wanting to go with you is from she feels like she's being left out. So, be sure to include her on somethings.

Don't put her on the back burner, and forget her. Talk to her, say you want to go to the sporting event with the guys, but you want to spend time with her too. That you will take her to that "girly" movie she's been wanting to see.
Or if there's a new resturant she's been wanting to try. Reassure her of your love, and that it's not that you don't want to spend time with her, but that it's a guy only thing. She will understand;especially if you promise her a night on the town-just you and her!

God bless us all..............

Not at all, but you have to remember that she is the one your going home too. Make sure that if you don't invite her this time that you do next time. Or plan a special event or outing that just the two of you can go on.

no, sometimes married couples (and people in non-marital relationships) need to have some time to themselves. Maybe take her to a game or two, but if it is something that you prefer to do alone MOST of the time, let her know that. I am sure you did this BEFORE you were married and it doesn't make good sense to get married and become each other's shadow. it's cliche'd but absence does make the heart grow fonder. let her know if your team wins, you are more likely to be in a good mood..... *wink*
